Plot Summary
In a seemingly perfect domed city of the future, citizens live lives of pleasure and abundance—but only until they reach the age of 30. At that point, they must participate in a ritual known as “Carousel,” which promises renewal but results in death.
Logan 5 is a “Sandman,” an officer responsible for tracking down and eliminating “Runners” who try to escape their fate. When Logan is ordered to infiltrate a group of escapees, he begins to question everything he has been taught.
Teaming up with a fellow Runner named Jessica, Logan flees the city and embarks on a journey to discover the truth about the world beyond—and whether freedom is possible.
